This will allow you to use many different applications at the same time, while you can be on the phone. It will also be a better battery saver since you could do it all at the same time. Apple has gone through tens of thousands of applications in the app store and have distilled the serviced those apps need to run in the background. Apple is providing seven multitasking services including : background audio streaming and Pandora. One more app added to the iPhone 4.0 is Skype. You can also do many applications while on Skype.
